DA launches women’s network on the Mother’s DAY



Democratic Alliance in the Mabopane, Soshanguve and Winterveld constituency celebrated Mother’s Day by launching its women’s league.
     The launch was held at Memezelo high school in Soshanguve Block AA.
    They decided to have the gathering on the Mother’s Day to celebrate together as mothers and elect the leadership of the Democratic Alliance women’s network.  They also had a chance to share views on political, social and economic issues that touches women.
     Doris Mnguni the regional chairperson of the Democratic Alliance women’s network in Pretoria north said: “This is our day as mothers, so we as Democratic Alliance decided to have a gathering to discuss our issues. We are launching a women’s network in this constituency and we have elected the executive.”
Mnguni also added that they had a chance to empower each other to start projects to fight poverty. “As women we must stand up and to something to eradicate poverty. Women, let us also stand up and say no to women and children abuse in our country by reporting all cases of violence in our homes,” she added.
   The newly elected chairperson in executive, Helen Kgobo said: “We are so impressed, celebrating our day as mothers that now we have a structure that will deal with women issues in our constituency. Our main focus this year is to persuade many women to join the Democratic Alliance and prepare for the elections in 2014,” she said.
 Kgobo said very soon they will start a door to door campaign around Mabopane, Soshanguve and Winterveld to increase membership in the Democratic Alliance.
